About Ski Walking/ Togakushi and more

Myoko is a splendid place where we can ski right from the front door. Skis are not something to use only on ski slopes; here, we can ski along snowy fields and forests, and around the Togakushi Shrine.

The golf course blanketed in snow is most suitable for beginners. Exercise in peace in a wide-open setting without crowds and congestion. You may experience the fun of skiing on gentle slopes.

Ski walking in the forest can offer new charm to the expert skier. Hike through a forest of Christmas trees and see rabbits and squirrels. Enjoy hot tea when you arrive across the small stream.

Let's visit the Togakushi Shrine on skis. Recently it is a popular "power spot" in Japan. I feel solemn when I approach the shrine along the path lined with cedar trees. There is the big pond nearby which is fun to cross on skis.
After skiing, let's visit the shop of unique bamboo crafts, a specialty of Togakushi.
There we can find many interesting products such as baskets or kitchen articles, and watch the crafts people at work. I recommend this shop for unique souvenirs of Japan.
